Autism Risk and Safety Training for First Responders
As public safety professionals, you are likely to have high risk contact with children and adults who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This training presentation is designed to give you a good understanding of effective approaches during interactions with individuals with autism.
The presentation will illustrate autism-related dispatches and field situations, and offer tips, options, and special tactics designed to enhance communication and manage the contact safely. This training will focus on high risk ASD emergency contacts and 911 requests for assistance, including: suspicious persons calls, rescue from dangerous structures & vehicle accidents, precautions in the emergency room, contacts that may involve acts of physical aggression and search and rescue for missing and vulnerable children, adolescents and adults.
