Aspetuck Valley Health District Trainings Offered

Apsetuck Valley Health District would like to announce that the following trainings are available, for free, for any group who would like it. Most trainings can be made available online or in-person. Some (such as Stop the Bleed), are better as in-person offerings. For more information about any of these trainings, please contact Mike Vincelli.

• Active Shooter Situational Awareness
  This is not a tactical training but a situational awareness training preparing you on how to react and respond during an active shooter, edge weapons, or vehicle ramming incident.
• Personal Preparedness
  What to have on hand to be prepared at home, work, and in your vehicle for all hazards, weather, power outages, terrorism, and accidents.
• Stop the Bleed
  A program designed by the Department Of Defense on how to control traumatic bleeding in a hands on training.
• Point Of Distribution (POD) Training
  Assisting in giving prophylaxis to patients in a mass setting.
• Domestic and Foreign Terrorism
  A history of terrorism, todays primary threats, and what groups are being presently watched.
• Visiting Clients Homes Safety Situational Awareness
  This training is for visiting nurses, CNAs, and others who make home visits.
• Incident Management System
  This is a basic review of what and how Incident Management operates.
• National Incident Management System (NIMS)
  A review of NIMS and why it is important to understand how it works with Incident Management.
