OUR MISSION
The mission of the Connecticut Health Care Coalition (CT HCC) is to promote collaboration, education, and joint exercises during the planning and preparedness phases of emergency management. During real-world operations, the mission of the CT HCC is to help identify resources at the state and sub-state levels, and to collect, analyze, validate, and disseminate essential elements of information (EEIs) to partner agencies.
Coalition Updates
CT HCC Membership Agreement - Sign Now!
We are excited to announce the release of the CT HCC Membership Agreement. Please visit the Become a Member Page on the CT HCC website, where you can learn more about membership and sign an agreement for your organization. All organizations must have a member agreement on file to vote in coalition matters, even if that organization was a member last year. Please review, complete and sign the agreement form ASAP, as we will be voting to elect the Executive Committee Members-at-Large during our bimonthly meeting on August 21, 2024.
Executive Committee Member-At-Large Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for the Executive Committee Member-At-Large positions - there will be up to 4 members serving in this position. This is an excellent opportunity for members to step into a leadership role and contribute to the strategic direction of the CT HCC. Nominations will be open until August 9, 2024, and self-nominations are welcome. To read more and to nominate a candidate or yourself, please see the nomination form.
Special Project Applications are Open Now!
We are excited to announce the beginning of the Special Project Application period. This opportunity is designed to support innovative projects that align with the CT HCC mission and have a significant impact on the health care community. The application period will run from now until August 30, 2024. All relevant details regarding the Special Projects process, including a link to apply, can be found on the Grants Page on the CT HCC website.

Registration is now open for the 2024 National Healthcare Coalition Conference. The registration page can be found here.
The National Healthcare Coalition Preparedness Conference, which will be taking place December 10-12, 2024 in Orlando. The conference will feature speakers and workshops that will emphasize healthcare preparedness, coalition building, and solutions for public health challenges. This will also be a great networking opportunity.
The CT HCC plans to offer scholarships for members to attend this conference; further details about the process regarding this opportunity will be shared soon. Stay tuned!

Threat Evaluation and Reporting Overview
This course is a three-hour introductory training focusing on a behavioral approach to violence prevention. This raises awareness about the risk factors, triggers and stressors, and warning behaviors that could impact a person's decision to commit an act of targeted violence. It also outlines the mitigating factors that could help precent acts of targeted violence, while emphasizing the importance of community involvement in seeking help for individuals, and respecting their privacy, civil rights and civil liberties.

This Biohazard Safety Training Workshop will provide local government personnel with a working knowledge of the necessary steps to safely and correctly navigate biohazardous scenes.
Attendees will examine various types of biohazardous environments: the proper methods to assess risk; how to navigate safely within a biohazardous scene and what tools are necessary to properly mitigate biohazardous threats. All bloodborne pathogens and biological/biohazardous threats will be touched upon, including: HIV, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, MRSA, hoarding situations, feces, bed bugs, chemical suicides, needle sticks, fentanyl, etc. After the seminar, the participant will understand the necessary procedures to safely address a biohazardous situation.

ICS 300 - Intermediate Incident Command System
Course Description: This is a 20-hour course provide training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System. This course expands upon information covered in the IS100 and IS200 programs.
Target Audience: This course is open to first responders, public works, jurisdictional executive, health care leadership, nonprofits and anyone else that may be required to perform intermediate ICS duties.

National Emergency Management Basic Academy
CT DEMHS is offering the National Emergency Management Basic Academy this fall. The goal of the Basic Academy is to support the early careers of emergency managers through a training experience combining knowledge of all fundamental systems, concepts, and practices of cutting-edge emergency management. The Academy provides shared classrooms of adult learners and skillful instructors resulting in a solid foundation upon which to build further studies and sound decisions.
