During an emergency, an Incident Command System (ICS) assists in command, control and coordination of all efforts aimed at protecting life, preserving property, supporting the emergency response and stabilizing the operations of a healthcare site. This 3 hour instructor-led session provides an introduction to the Incident Command System, the National Incident Management System and National Response Framework and establish a “no risk” environment in which concepts can be applied to real-life scenarios.
Course Topics
- Understanding of ICS, including communication of accurate and timely information through proper chain of command and use of consistent language
2. Understanding of the Emergency Management Plan and implementation during an event
